Coming Out of Hiding

In what ways are you still hiding? Hiding from the world or even from yourself?

Up till now, I’ve always been a behind-the-scenes kind of person, comfortable to just fade into the background, take care of all the details and keep things running for those in the spotlight.

I didn’t want to be noticed too much for fear of being judged, of doing something wrong or of not being liked once I revealed my authentic self.

Growing up, the world taught me, and a lot of others, to be prim, proper and pleasing.

If we didn’t try to fit that mold, we risked rejection. But in trying to squeeze ourselves into a shoe that just didn’t fit, we rejected ourselves. 👠

Who wants to live a life where it’s not ok to just be yourself?

Our planet is a world of such beauty and diversity. There naturally exists a wide variety of landscapes, wildlife, foliage and lifestyles. 🎋⛰🌳🌋

If nature is beautiful in large part because of her diversity, what makes us humans think that we’re different, that we’re only beautiful if we fit into the current popular idea of desirability?

We all have beauty inside of us. Your beauty and mine may look and feel entirely different.

And it’s all beautiful. 🌈

I’m finally learning to just be myself, to step more fully into my power and let go of all the habits and patterns that were never really mine to begin with.

We are all wild, magical, powerful beings who weren’t born to fit in with the crowd.✨

We were each born to stand out, to stand up and embrace each other in all our diverse glory. 🙌🏿 🙌🏾 🙌🏽 🙌🏼 🙌🏻
